    Cynthia POwer

We are lucky to have circularity expert Cynthia Power on the Jackalo board. With 15 years of experience in the circular fashion space, she helps build and operationalize resale and reuse programs. For Jackalo, that means helping to build our TradeUP program which takes back used Jackalo clothes and repairs and resells them.

She does a deep dive into Jackalo's circular clothing strategy with Jackalo founder Marianna Sachse. Breaking down Jackalo's comprehensive approach to circularity.

    • New clothes that are designed for circularity
    • Take backs through the TradeUP program, partnered with The Again Co
    • Resale of used clothes
    • Repair: we repair returned clothes (to prepare them for resale) and also encourage people to learn how to mend their own clothes
    • Remanufacturing clothing or other items from clothes that can't be repaired
    • Recycling fabric that can't be reused or repaired

Circularity is important to me because we know that secondhand clothes are the most sustainable option, but too often kids' clothes don't last until the secondhand phase. It is possible, and I'm a huge believer that when we think differently we can have an outsized impact. - Marianna Sachse
