Every once in a while, something happens that reminds me exactly why I started Jackalo. Recently, a new customer, Meg, shared the most thoughtful Instagram post about her experience with our clothes—and she completely got it without me having to explain a thing.

Seeing her excitement and hearing what she loved about Jackalo was such a gift. As a founder, I spend so much of my time talking about our mission—sustainable kids’ clothing that lasts, grows with your child, and makes life just a little easier for parents. But when someone new comes along and immediately understands what we’re trying to do, it’s deeply affirming.

A Conversation That Matters

After her post, I invited her to chat with me—something I offer to any of our repeat customers (they get an invitation after their 2nd purchase). These conversations are one of my favorite parts of running Jackalo. We talked about how she discovered us, what she loved most about our designs, and where she felt our clothes made her family’s life simpler.

It wasn’t just feedback; it was connection. I walked away inspired and energized, with ideas about how we can continue serving families better.

Why I Take the Time to Talk With Customers

At Jackalo, we’re not just making kids’ clothes—we’re building a community around sustainability, durability, and care. Every parent’s experience is unique, and when I hear directly from customers, I learn what’s really working and where we can improve.

These conversations give me the insight to:

  • Design better kids’ clothes that are durable, comfortable, and kid-approved.
  • Refine our circular model so buybacks, repairs, and resales truly meet families’ needs.
  • Offer support to parents who want clothing that fits their values and their children’s busy lives.

And honestly? It makes my day. Running a business can be a grind, but these moments of genuine connection are what keep me grounded.

Building Support, One Story at a Time

What struck me most about this Meg’s Instagram post was how seen she felt when she found Jackalo. She wasn’t just buying clothes—she was joining a movement for sustainable fashion, thoughtful parenting, and community care.

That’s exactly what I hope every customer feels. Because at the end of the day, my job isn’t just to make better kids’ clothes—it’s to serve families, to lighten the load just a little, and to help parents feel supported in the choices they’re making.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

If you’re a Jackalo customer (or even just Jackalo-curious), I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s through a post, an email, or a chat, your stories shape everything we do. Together, we can make kids’ fashion more sustainable, more practical, and more joyful.
