Our partner has an explicit mission to empower disadvantaged women— and in turn their children, families, and entire communities.
They are "Guaranteed Fair Trade", meaning they pay fair wages and don't use child labor (a low bar, but sadly uncommon in the garment industry!)
Trained sewers join as members of smaller Fair Trade Cooperative Groups, which are self-managed by their women members.
They are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. This means they have met strict ecological and social criteria.
It feels good knowing our clothes come from organic farming practices. It feels even better to know that those organic fabrics are never treated with bleach or other harsh, toxic chemicals and dyes.
That's a win for the environment and human health!
